LIVING FOR CHRIST IV February 18, 2018

What makes the life of Christ that much meaningful to us and the world today?

Because it was sown as a seed.

How much of a seed is your life?

God only blesses seed – 2Co 9:10

Seed is not only in the material in the ground but also in the lifestyle of the sower.

It is in the commitment of your life in His service

Is your life impacting anyone or anywhere?

God gave you life to serve Him with it.

As long as you are engaged in the LORD’S service, you are covered by the Lord to enjoy a sickness disease and affliction free life.

If you are in His service sickness and disease cannot have dominion over you.

Your term of the contract to enjoying sound health is “Thou shall serve the Lord your God”

A faithful ambassador is health. – Proverbs 13:17

Serving God means you are representing Him here on the earth.

It means you’re committed to doing His will and His work here on earth.

As ambassadors for Christ here on earth: Health is yours by right.

If you are engaged in His service, it is yours by covenant.

If you are in His service, God has a duty to make you healthy.

I want you to know today that God did not just save you to make heaven but much more to serve Him here on earth.

Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Until Israel was ready to serve him, God was not committed to letting them go free

It is service in the kingdom that guarantees you’re enjoying the blessings of God including sound health

What does God desire from us?

Whether “we eat or drink, or whatever we do, do all to the glory of God.”

What does it mean to serve God?

First in serving God is doing it willingly and joyfully, knowing He is your God and it is your delight to serve Him.

Such serving is the key: with gladness and joyfulness of heart.

God has granted each of us gifts, whether in serving, teaching, exhortation or simply in carrying out our everyday work.

Whatever you are; fulfilling your earthly obligations is, in fact, service to the Lord.

We should be doing all the things we do because we desire to bring God glory.

Remember we are also His bond-servants purchased by His blood.

Serving God is a missing key in our walk with Christ.

As a child of God and servant of Christ, you need to serve him.

In addition, to believe in Him with all your heart, soul, and mind; you need to serve Him as well.

Even so, faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. – James 2:17

How do we serve God?

1       Make time to Worship God

It’s very easy for many Christians today to get caught up in our daily schedules.

We wake up, go to work, run about town, maybe watch some television, and prepare to do it all again tomorrow.

In this kind of environment, most often forget to worship their God regularly, but that worship itself refreshes the soul.

We are called to love God, so let us make time for Him.

But also, most importantly is church service and be regular as a point of duty.

Hear David

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [In His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider and inquire in His temple. – Psalm 27:4

We need to continually desire intimate fellowship with God if we want to experience lasting inner joy.

To seek is to desire and require, which is to crave, pursue, and go after something with all your might.

No matter what we own, where we go, or what we do, nothing can give us true gratification but the presence of God.

We were created to enjoy a living, vital relationship with God.

Intimacy with God is a matter of time.

You have to start making a spiritual investment, and not seek instant gratification.

Time with God is a vital necessity

The quality of our life is greatly affected by the time we spend with God, and it should have a place or priority in our schedule.

2       You serve Him with your resources.

3       Be a fruit bearer

God has seasonal or yearly expectations from you: God is always checking on you.

This is a heavenly pattern.

How productive are you in His house or vineyard?

God is interested in you bearing fruit in His kingdom.

If your life is relevant to His kingdom He will attend to you.

What are you doing that you expect to be speaking for you?

Let us see some men who served God

1 Chronicles 28:4 Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:

Why did God like him?

Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Nehemiah 13:14 Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services.

31 I also made provision for contributions of wood at designated times, and for the firstfruits. Remember me with favour, O my God. NIV

1Co 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

Don’t spend your time chasing blessings: Chase after God and the blessings will be chasing after you.

When you spend time with God, everybody else will know it.

He wants us to enjoy the fullness of His plan for us.

Jesus is Lord
