SECURING GOOD AND LASTING SUCCESS X (September 23, 2018)

AS GOD’S CO-BUILDERS

“I will build my church.”- Matthew 16:18

If it is not our job to build the church, then what is our job?

Our job is to win the souls we can for the Savior.

Our job is to preach the truth to the world.

Our job is to fulfil the Great Commission.

Being in covenant with Him, as partners become co-labourers. – 1 Corinthians 3: 9

Soul Winning

This is to be our first priority in the church

It’s time we made Soul Winning our most important activity in the church.

Everyone must go soul winning.

The Believer’s Joy – Luke 15:10

It is Soul winning brings joy to the heart of the believer.

Soul winning brings the joy of fulfilment in your heart.  – John 4:31 – 36

There is great excitement in leading someone to Christ.

Go Believing That You Will Have Someone Saved.

In soul winning, you must go believing that someone will be saved.

The Holy Spirit

In soul winning, your number one partner is the Holy Spirit.

Always expect and allow Him to do His job.

The best partner a soul winner has is the Holy Spirit.

He is your soul winning Partner.

The Holy Spirit is the one that brings conviction.

PREPARING TO WIN SOULS

Have a plan.

A plan has a beginning and an end.

Know what your mission is and when it is accomplished

This helps to build and convey confidence.

Be yourself.

Don’t be anxious as to what will happen

Be relaxed, allow the Holy Spirit to do His job through you.

The Holy Spirit is our tremendous help in soul winning.

Be yourself and relax

If you want to have people saved, relax and be yourself.

The more you relax, the more you allow the Holy Spirit to do His work through you.

Ask The Holy Spirit

The most important time you can spend is the time you spend in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you to people who are already under conviction.

If you are saved, the Holy Spirit dwells in you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to where to go.

Then head to the first place that comes to your mind.

He will direct you to the people who want salvation.

The Holy Spirit is working on someone around you and that person is under conviction already.

Be friendly and identify yourself.

Extend your hand to him/her and introduce yourself.

Then hand him/her a tract if you have one.

Also, tell him/her what church you represent.

Be friendly and smile.

Identifying yourself is very important.

After you introduce yourself, ask for his/her name.

Use his/her name while you are talking to his/her.

This brings about a personal connection.

In soul winning, it’s not about how many you talk to.

It is about getting individual sinners saved.

It is great if you can come back with more than ten souls saved.

But it is just as important that each individual person you talk to knows you are concerned about him/her personally.

Have an opening question.

This is the beginning of your soul winning presentation.

It is important to develop some simple questions that will help you start the right conversation.

The opening question is extremely important in getting to the point;

This can help save time.

Start With the First Person You See

The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to talk to someone.

Start with the first person you come across.

You might as well break the ice.

In order to break the ice, start with the first person; after that, stop everyone you see.

Look for People Who Are under Conviction

A man of God says: If there is no conviction, there can be no conversion.

Therefore, look for people under conviction.

If someone does not want to be saved, do not argue with him.

Beware don’t waste time arguing with people on church or religious doctrines.

Do Not Get Sidetracked By Many Questions.

Questions from the unsaved person are common in soul winning.

For example, you may be asked, “what does your church think about drinking alcohol?”

You may know exactly what your church thinks about drinking alcohol, but this is not preaching time; it is soul winning time.

Avoid being sidetracked by responding, “that is a good question, but let’s wait until after I am finished, and I will be glad to answer your question.”

Then go right back to where you were when the question was asked.

Your message on this mission is Christ the Savior.

Don’t get sidetracked, always get back to the plan of salvation.

Find Someone Who Wants To Be Saved.

Find someone who been thinking about what you have to say.

Who has been thinking about Heaven and Hell.

Look for someone who is under conviction.

Be Determined About Getting Someone Saved

Be determined that you will stay out soul winning until you see someone come to Christ.

This will keep you going until you see someone saved.

Many of us quit too soon or gets discouraged too soon.

Keep going; God has someone prepared for you who wants to be saved.

A Few Key Scriptures

”As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one”: – Romans 3:10

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. – Romans 3:23

”For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. – Romans 6:23

”For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. – Romans 10:13

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” – Romans 10:9 – 11

Someone Has to PAY!

Someone has to pay for your sins.

They need to know that it is either they must pay for their sins by going to Hell.

Or you must accept that Someone else.

Someone Who is qualified paid for their sins already.

And Jesus is that Ransom.

Jesus is the payment for our sin. “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

They need to know that it is not through you, not through me, not through any church, but through the very person of Jesus Christ that we can have eternal life.

Giving Assurance of Salvation.  – John 5:24

After a person has prayed with you, receiving Christ as Savior, immediately assure him/her of salvation.

Take time to explain what everlasting life is.

This will help the person spiritually, and it will also help you when it comes time to get him to church.

Please always take time to explain that salvation is based on the Word of God.

Getting Your Converts to Church

Give them the assurance of their salvation.

Also, take time to explain the importance of going to church.

Most of the time, because of the lack of diligence in leading converts to the assurance of their salvation, it becomes very difficult to get them to church.

The job is not done until you get a convert to the church.

When a new convert misses church, you should call him/her or go by and check on him/her.

Showing personal concern will do a lot to help him/her grow in the Lord.

Soul winning is work, and work takes time and effort.

God will help you; so go and be a SOUL WINNER

Jesus is Lord
