Everything that God has for you comes with knowledge.

This is the dawning of a new day for you.

Proverbs 13:15

Good understanding giveth favor: but the way of transgressors is hard.

This is a day where your understanding of it just brings joy to your heart.

Don’t be among the multitude who celebrate it without understanding the purpose of it.

It’s your understanding of it that fuels the joy from your heart.

Today God turning your mourning into singing.

Because of the uniqueness of this day in history, God will do something of joy in your life.

Luke 2:10

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

The first set of words reporting His birth talks of good tidings and great joy.

Also, it addressed the core pain in man fear: It says fear not.

So, I say to you today fear not;

Whatever that situation may be that is harassing you, fear not.

Ps 112:4

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: [he is] gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

God is gracious.

God is full of compassion,

God is righteous; that is, He always does right.

“Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness”.

No matter how dark your case may be, Christmas is the reason while light will break for you today.

You are not Forsaken

Today in history confirms to me that you are not forsaken.

Because He was born, man was brought back into covenant with God.

Don’t count yourself out, God is mindful of you.

So, again in whatever situation you may be, God is locating you in today this Christmas for a change.

Luke 2:32

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Jesus came to lighten your darkness and my darkness.

He came to dissolve your hard circumstances and my hard circumstances.

He is the light and the glory

This means darkness cannot rule you anymore.

Whatever hold darkness has on your life is destroyed today.

This means shame and reproach cannot dominate you anymore

He is your light and glory.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Jesus came as the Manifested Word of God to reveal the heart of God to man.

And the word became flesh.

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This is the same flesh or body that was broken for us on the communion table.

Oh, someone may say what about Christmas, “What does it have to do with Communion?”

Remember I said two weeks ago teaching on the communion that it is an exchange with Jesus.

We need to have knowledge of the fulness of the manifestation of that baby lying in a manger.

See the impact of His broken body

Lu 24:28 – 32

28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

He took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

As a result of this breaking of bread: “Their eyes were opened”

This shows us it wasn’t ordinary meal.

Here the Lord Jesus used two elements to reveal the Glory of who He was.

He used the Word of God and Communion.

We partake of the Communion – to discern, understand, and know Him.

“And their eyes were opened, and they knew him”

It is impossible to discern the Lord in the Communion without knowing Him through the Glory of His Word.

God’s Word is His Covenant with us and He is serious about keeping His Word.

The communion is a covenant meal.

The Communion, it is a type of the Lord’s Body and His Blood.

As we eat of the bread of the Communion, we are to receive by faith the wholeness offered to us because of what He bore on His Body.

And likewise, as we drink of the Cup of Communion, we are to receive by faith what His blood has redeemed us for.

Today and always I want you as partake of His flesh and His blood to declare, “By this heavenly meal I am healed!”

Declare your covenant right out loud,

“I am free from the hold of sin”

“I am healed of every sickness”

“I am free from every oppression”

“Satan you have no power over me”

Abraham and the Communion

Joh 8:56

“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad”.

Many have wondered how or where and when?

But then as I showed us two weeks ago, the place of first mention of the communion meal; the covenant meal was Genesis 14: 18

Genesis 14:18

And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

Here is the first-place bread and wine was offered and it was given to Abraham, a Covenant child of God.

If you read the same report in Hebrews 7: 1 -3

Heb 7:1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

This Melchizedek is a type of Christ.

Made like unto the Son of God: Abraham met Him

And Abraham counted Him worthy to receive the tithe of his income.

Here also we see the first tithe in the Bible.

Tithing was not just under the Law.

Tithing was done by Abraham four hundred and thirty-eight years before God gave the Law to Moses!

Tithing is not a matter of Law, but a matter of Covenant.

Medium of exchange

The tithe here also becomes a medium of exchange.

Abraham offered his tithe as he received the Bread and the Cup and was blessed by Melchizedek the priest.

Hence what Apostle Paul called it “The cup of blessing”

1Co 10:16

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

Here the Communion shows us God’s power to make an exchange by the Covenant.

Melchizedek brought forth bread and wine and blessed Abraham.

This is a picture of Jesus and the church.

Jesus has brought to us the bread and the wine as well as His promise to bless.

As we receive, we also should return the honor of offering Him our tithes.

There is healing power in Communion.

1 Corinthians 11:26

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

We do “shew” or manifest His death.

As often as we eat and drink Communion, we do manifest what Jesus died for – Our Salvation!

Our healing

Our freedom.

Our deliverance.

Our liberty.

Our fruitfulness

Our welfare.

As we partake of the receive Communion in the faith, we expect that He is going to manifest His power in healing, salvation and deliverance in us.

Jesus, is the High Priest of Our Profession

Hebrews 3:1

“Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.”

Jesus is the mediator of the Covenant.

So, let us celebrate Him today as we celebrate His birth.

If He was never born, He could not do any of these for us. Jesus is Lord
